 Hal
Kinnaman is perhaps the most accomplished and most well known Hawaiian
slack key player and classical guitarist on Kauai.
As a Kauai guitar teacher, he has taught hundreds of people how
to play the slack key guitar.
The
mellow tones of Kinnaman's guitar have enhanced countless wedding
ceremonies during the fifteen plus years that he has worked as a
professional wedding guitarist.
As
an author and recording artist, Mr. Kinnaman has performed on the
U.S. Mainland, Europe, and the South Seas. In 1994, he received
a Folk Arts Apprenticeship Award from the State of Hawaii Foundation
of Culture and the Arts.
Currently
his recordings are featured on Hawaiian television and his teaching
book and cassettes are available in the Hawaii Public Library. He
recently recorded several compact discs and was featured in the
national guitar publication "Fingerstyle Guitar".
